June 2014: 2014: The Myanmar Engineering Society MES, and STEPPinternational agree on a Cooperation Agreement aimed at promoting Euro-Burman collaboration in the engineering and consulting field.
February/March 2014: STEPPinternational concluded together with the Engineering Department of the Munich University of Applied Sciences, Germany, and the Research Department of the Myanmar Ministry of Science and Technology a tripartite Cooperation Agreement regarding research collaboration on the production of cement from rice husk.
February 2014: During the visit to Myanmar, Dr. Goetz of STEPPinternational and Prof.Schmidt and Dauberschmidt from Munich University of Applied Sciences, Germany participated as main speakers in a seminar on “Opportunities and Challenges in Construction Project Management” organized on 21.0214 by the Myanmar Engineering Society.
November 2012: Ambassador Jolanda Brunetti and Dr.Franz Goetz of STEPPinternational are nominated by the Comitato Italiano WFP Onlus as Councellors for the development of UN- WFP World Food Program visibility and resourcing in the Italian Region of the Marche.
January/February 2013: During a visit to Myanmar , Dr. Goetz of STEPPinternational negotiates Letters of Interest presented by the Munich University of Applied Sciences, Economic and Engineering Faculty to the Yangon Economic Institute and Yangon Technical University respectively, concerning scientific cooperation for mutual benefit and reciprocity. On the occasion of the same visit, working contacts were established with the Myanmar Ministry of Transport in the new Capital Nay Pyi Taw, as also with the Yangon Port Authority and the Myanmar Engineering Society.
January/February 2013: During visit to Myanmar, Ambassador Jolanda Brunetti meets the Rector of the University of Foreign Languages of Yangon and two Professors, discussing the possibility of helping the creation of a preparatory Course of Italian for local teachers with the intent to promote the establishment of a Language Department of Italian within the University.
May 2013: Dr. Franz Goetz of STEPPinternational represents the Myanmar Ministry of Transport at the International Transport Conference “INTER-TRANSPORT” held in Odessa, Ukraine on May 29-31, introducing Myanmar as promising cooperation partner and informing on investment opportunities and needs in the maritime and river transport sector. September 2013: The Myanmar Ministry of Science and Technology approves of inter-university cooperation between the Munich University of Applied Sciences, Engineering Department and the Yangon Technical University and proposes to arrange for a meeting in order to agree on cooperation and research activities of social interest. A respective interactive workshop to be held in Myanmar is scheduled for February 2014.
October 2013: STEPPinternational is represented by Ambassador Jolanda Brunetti at the Rome Conference “Myanmar, the new Asian Frontier” organized on 23rd by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
October 2013: Ambassador Jolanda Brunetti represents STEPPinternational on 24th at the FORUM AMBASCIATORI EURASIA held at Bari, Italy organized by the EIEAD, Europe Institute for EurAsian Dialogue. The Forum discussed the situation in Central Asia and the surrounding region.
October/November 2013:Dr. Robin Chan of STEPPinternational is visiting Myanmar for carrying out surgery for the poor at Wachet Jivitadan Sangha Hospital , Sagaing Hills, Sagaing, Myanmar.

Participation in a one day Seminar on “Opportunities and Challenges in Construction Project Management” organized on 21.0214 together with the Myanmar Engineering Society (MES) and held in the MES premises.

February 2015: Myanmar/ Italy. Beginning of Italian language course for local teachers at the Yangon Universtiy of Foreign Languages, with funds of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
February/March 2015: Myanmar/Italy.Fourth Mission to Myanmar by Ambassador Jolanda Brunetti, Vice President STEPPinternational. Signature of Cooperation Agreement between the Myanmar Engineering Society (MES) and STEPPinternational.
March 2015: Myanmar/Germany/Italy.Organization in Yangon/Myanmar together with MES of a one day
Seminar on engineering matters, with the participation of two Professors of the Munich University of Applied
Sciences for students of the MES Myanmar Engineering Society courses. The Seminar took place at the MES
premises. Lectures were presented on “Validation of numerical models in geotechnics” and “Non -destructive
testing of RC-structures”. The Seminar has been chaired by MES Chairman U Win Khaing. Preparatory meetings
were also held with the Ministry of Science and Technology concerning the earlier agreed research project
"cement from rice husk ash”.

June 2015: Ukraine. Dr. Franz Goetz represents STEPPinternational as main speaker on “BLACK SEA NETWORK FORMATION – A PERMANENT CHALLENGE” at XVI International Transport Conference “INTER-TRANSPORT” held in Odessa/ Ukraine on June 4th –5th, 2015.. July 2015: Italy/Myanmar. Meeting in Rome between Mr. Thaung Sein, Central Committee Member of MES and Chairman of Geotechnical Division of MES, Ambassador Jolanda Brunetti and Mr. Edoardo Scacchi of STEPPinternational, and Representatives of the Italian construction industry to discuss the visiting programme for the forthcoming MES Delegation visit to Italy in October 2015. Further, discussion of the possible agenda for an Interactive Workshop in Yangon/Myanmar to the subject “Building rehabilitation and protection and soil assessment and improvement” scheduled for early 2016.
October 2015: Italy/Germany/Myanmar:Invitation of MES delegation of Myanmar to Italy and Germany during 04.10 -14.10.15, to meet with higher education facilities in engineering and internationally experienced consulting, design and engineering companies. The visit is co-sponsored by the Munich University of Applied Sciences, Germany, the Reggio Emilia University, the Piacentini Group of Companies, the Polo Tecnologico, Castelfidardo, Soil Srl and Studio Majone, Italy.
